Marisa Michelson 

is a singer, composer, and voice teacher living in NYC.  She received her B.F.A in Drama from New York University and has continued intensive vocal studies with the Libero Canto School of free singing in Vienna and NYC. Marisa creates music-theatre pieces that have been performed in various theaters across the United States. She has sung with Meredith Monk and is the winner of numerous awards for her compositions. 

Faye Shapiro and Marisa Michelson have dedicated a month working together thanks to a residency through the Free Columbia art course. They will share a work-showing of their vocal/movement piece Voice Becoming.
